 Post subject: Wd My Passport Essential (USB 3.0) fail.

Wd 500gb usb 3.0
Try to recover my photos.
Test it with other usb 3 cable not.
Hdd led on.
Hdd work no spin, no noise. normal motor rotate
No sign USB NOT RECOGNISED
Pcb version 2060-771737-000 rev A
I must found the same pcb to test

Pin out to make it sata?

you should change usb interface to sata
or simply you can install 2060-701692-000 rev p1 this is sata compatible with your pcb

how i can change usb interface to sata? pinouts to solder a sata cable?? what capacitors remove?
if i change board i must change bios too?

These two PCBs use the same Marvell MCU (88i9146-TFJ2):

Follow the SATA Tx/Rx pins to the SATA data connector.

i undrestand what have to do.
i try to find the Marvell MCU (88i9146-TFJ2) pinout diagram to solder the sata connector to the E71 , E72 , E73 , E75 pinout.
it is not mater who i solder it? not thing so.
i must solder / connect it right.
i am asking if you know what is each pinout on the board.
is E71 A+ / TXP or is A- / TXN or is B+ / RXP or B- / RXN ????

Is no one going to tell this guy the obvious limitation... that the data will be encrypted if you read it through SATA?

Ok , thanks, the only way is to change the board with the same and if it works ok.
or find sata board and change the bios and ok to read it then?
