hello

I am planning to buy this Hantek Lab 34CH 500MHz PC Digital Logic-Analyzer Testing Equipment Oscilloscope but before I spend money I just want to make sure this is the right tool for the job. I will be using LA for NaND pinout finding. I have heard Intronix Logigport is good but its also like 400$. any advice would be appreciated
thanks

For these budget logic analyzers you're not buying the hardware but the software and their software looks like shit from the screen captures.

Not many budget options out there, maybe you can pick up a used LeCroy on eBay for cheap if you're willing to wait otherwise Intronix.

The guys at EEVblog specialise in test instruments. Here is just one thread on the subject:

Here is a discussion of the Intronix Logicport hardware:

Thanks Frank ,
But its quite a dated thread there and the hantek that time was sold for usd 204 .The lecroy is just 16 channels but is definitely available for usd 750 To usd 1250 can a 16 channel one suit this job i think in 16 bit monolith its a issue not a 8 bit one .How about Zeroplus any comments on those

I would ask the engineers at EEVblog. I really don't have any worthwhile experience with logic analysers.

BTW, the "teardown" thread was dated October 31, 2011. The Intronix PCB has "Copyright Intronix 2006" printed on it, and the FPGA IC appears to have an 0749 YYWW date code (2007, week 49).

I found the following thread dated 11th April 2009 which talks about the same analyser (34 CHANNEL LA1034 LOGICPORT), so it appears that this design has been around for a very long time.

Frank ,
Another thing i have observed is the following that after research and nailing down purchase decision to a few la's its a great idea to read their manuals inside out and also tryout their software in demo mode if they offer such facility to narrow down your decision .I am now setting my new office this month and once done i would be making a decision to look into a LA for monolith and HDD research in general
