How to rip correctly decryption key from module 25 and load it into DE by using manual method.
Auto check method often doesn't work, MRT staff should fix this bug !!!

Nice video tutorial, makes it very clear. Also, makes me glad I have PC-3000 instead of MRT as it doesn't suffer from this issue.

Nice work nonetheless.

Hi
I'm currently working on a case exactly like this, a Firebird disk converted to SATA, and to my surprise the utility is working as it should, no tricks need to be done...The only thing I did was not to do "Auto check" function but instead I did "Load from file" and pointed to mod 25 and that's all, the utility is decrypting the data.
I don't know why in Michael case was not working...maybe he is using an older version of the software?

Regards

Hi,
when i created this video i was already using last mrt version (v. 161102)
In some case 'auto check' works, in other doesn't, it depends from type of encryption applied by the MCU on native pcb.
In my case, MCU model was JMS538S, so i had to dump manually just the key code from mod 25 (or from EDEK file) and load it into mrt utility.

Hi Michael

That's what I'm talking about.....My case was exactly like yours, same hdd, same jmicron bridge, same family, but in your case the decryption steps was not working as it should and in mine case the decryption works ok.
Strange.....Probably different version of firmware or the software is to blame.

Rgds
