I have a laptop, but it cannot boot because there is no battery. I cannot charge it. I do not know why. What should I do? :(

Are you asking about your ac adapter operations? If yes, without a battery, the ac adapter cannot charge the laptop. If you supply the exact laptop manufacturer & model specs, maybe a hardware guru can post a url to purchase a battery.

What does this have to do with hard drives? I'd suggest asking in Tom's Hardware forum instead.

My guess is that the end-user was not getting access to her hard-drive; and then discovered the trouble is further up the food chain, the laptop itself.
She could also try: www.bleepingcomputer.com
