mmzhr, I tell you what, if it were SY-FI possible, I'd give you some of my English, and have you give me some of your incredibly thorough hard-drive knowledge!
I wish I knew what this meant:
sys file 28 and 35; replacement
translator with m0,6,2,,,,,22; regeneration

sys file number 28 is translator module
sys fille number 35 is nrg list module
translator convert physical sector to logical sector

Maybe it's not partial access problem.

Do you need the data ?

Start by disabling relocation by sysfile 93 / congen

If you don't need the data write a cleared Non-Resident G, Clear G and regen with m0,6,3,,,,,22.

If you use m0,6,3,,,,22 without clearing the G-list all the Defects of G-List will move to NG-list.

Power off/on and do ATA SECURE ERASE.

Check with Victoria. Even if you have bad sectors on the drive you should be able to scan the end of it skipping the bad blocks.

You should see something like this :

Attachment:
2.jpg

This means that even if the drive is still "junk" at least you are not stuck with partial access.

Thanks Spildit :D
i replaced cleared nrg 35 file and clear glist and then regenerate with m0,6,2,,,,,22 but problem not solved :? :shock:
How Fix This Problem?

Do it again. Replace 35 with cleared copy and make sure it's cleared. Regen with m0,6,3 instead of "2".

Now power off and on and do a secure erase. You can use Victoria or MHDD and do the fasterase. Wait for the drve to change from bsy to rdy. It will take some time.

Now check surface with victoria/mhdd. You should have access to totality of LBA space with exception of bad blocks.

ALL DATA WILL BE LOST.

Thanks Spildit
i replaced clear sys file 35 and clear glist with i4,1,22 and regenerate translator with m0,6,3,,,,,22 and power off and on again
and erase whole hdd with write test with no defects :D
but read test after lba 195500 gives unc error!!! :( :shock:
how can i enter defects in defect list?

If you use victoria and skip the 195500 portion up ahead can you read sectors then ? If so your drive is not stuck with partial access.

Also try secure erase instead.

To enter defects on the defect lists i use SeDiv. I don't know how to edit defect lists by hand.

hi spildit
i use victoria
after lba 195500 victoria show blue blocks (bad) after 100 blocks show gray blocks (good) again show blue blocks and.... repeat sequentialy

Guys, Gals, I'm a beginner, how and where would I install Victoria 4.46? Onto portable media? I'd like to use the "read-only" to create a text file or XML of my HD's sector zero and whatever else Victoria sniffs.

hi i used this command that repaired my hdds :D :D
m0,2d,1,ffff,ffff,ffff,ffff,22
m0 = user partition
2d = 101101 = enable format seacos, enable reformat zone,enable log,disable certify,enable format, enable corrupt primary defects
ffff = max write retry
ffff = max read retry
ffff = max ecc level
ffff = max rewrite retry
22 = valid key
and then regenrated translator with this command gives good performance :D :D
m0,2b,3,0,0,0,0,22
Thanks To All :D :)
