Would help if you explain what you want to do.

Aomei Partition Assistant works fine for moving/resizing partitions in Windows, if that's what you need. It's free.

You can use MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition 10.2 in Windows or you can buy Pro version and Create Bootable CD DVD USB.

It's my favourite partitioning software.

scratchy,

"Would help if you explain what you want to do" The last time I really used partition software was with PowerQuest PartitionMagic for Windows/Linux dual boot HDDs. Over time ran into problems doing this so stopped.

Now would like to install various single OSes and test, then be able to reduce the HDD partition and make a bootable USB Drive with this OS. Do not even know if there is Partition Software that can do all this?

Since there are many HDD Partition Apps now would like to get an idea what others much more experienced using them like.

Done some searching and found reviews like "10 Free Disk Partition Software Tools" https://www.lifewire.com/free-disk-part ... ls-2624950 and "Top 6 Partition Managers (CLI + GUI) for Linux" https://www.tecmint.com/linux-partition-managers/ but would like to get recommendations from others especially concerning what they like and even dislike.

Everyone,

Searching found "List of disk partitioning software" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_d ... g_software Seems like it is missing a lot of apps.

Forgot to mention each HDD will only contain a Windows OS and have sufficient RAM so there will be no page files.

Thanks for your comments

It is best you try yourself and see what you like.
Almost always, there is something lacking in one software where another does not.

I'm not Blizzard but I also like and use AOMEI PA -- in spite of it having trashed a drive on me when moving and resizing partitions one hay. I forget the details and their support was no help. Use it at your own risk.

many OS's dont like being used from a removeable drive. USB's are so cheap, better to just make bootable USBs straight up. Linux is easy, Windows I havent tried but apparently is as well. Not sure what you are wanting a stack of USB based OS's for but seems like a canky way to do it. IMHO

LarrySabo,

"...I also like and use AOMEI PA -- in spite of it having trashed a drive on me when moving and resizing partitions" That is why I stopped using PowerQuest PartitionMagic!!!!

Hope someone can mention an app that does not do that.

HaQue,

"many OS's dont like being used from a removeable drive" That why I thought to try testing on a real HDD.

Want to reduce OS bloatware to min and run using RAM.

If you just want to install in the hard disks to test ( and only one version per hard disk ) , then the OS being installed will come with its own partition tool.

Just install, then clean the OS in the ways you want/need, and after that look at the size of the space occupied to determine how big a partition it would need to have.

After that, for constructing the USB, there are tools for that, or you can research about grub configurations to do just that. I´m doing something similar, but my way will use grub with disk images ( from isos and hds alike ) to choose a couple of alternate sistems to boot for diagnostics.
