Hello,

I have 15 seagate constelation es ST1000NM0001 drives. Dell server with 5/i gives me - wrong type, 6/i - can not initialize. My guess the reason is non Dell firmware.
I have seen several old threads about it without any clear result. Is it possible to put dell firmware? Or e.g. if I would buy 1 Dell ST1000NM0001 can it be cloned among them.

Thank you in advance. any help is uppreciated

I tested a couple of SATA disk and they work fine :( I am not able to realize what's wrong with ST1000NM0001

It could be that Dell expects a different sector size:

User-selectable logical block size (512, 520 or 528 bytes per logical block)

thank you for your reply! You gave me hope. I see it must be non Raid card. So Dell 5/i and 6/i I have does not fits as I understand? Just to confirm since I do not have any other and it seems I have to buy.
