worked during a period of high heat (37 ° C in the room) and at the end of the day the computer did not detect it anymore. I changed the enclosure but now the disk is detected as 3.86 Go and not 2 To. It does not appear in Computer (windows explorer) but only in disk management. it is not initialized and there is the error message indicating a peripheral problem input / output. Can I change the pcb or it will not change anything?

At the drive wake up (when i switch on the usb dock) there is some clicks, then a sound like if the arm is going from one side to the other side of the disk, maybe 2 or 3 time (don't know if it is really whats happen) and nothing: no sound no spin.
All test with Seatool "seem" to be passed.

What I learned from this very interesting reading is that the absolute priority of data recovery professionals is the rescue of their customers' data. It's quite normal since it's their job.
I have a completely different approach to the extent that I consider my data as already irretrievably lost.
As I said in my previous posts, I do not have irreplaceable data on this hard drive and the cost of the rescue is not worth what the data is worth; (My very important data is stored on 5 different devices !!!).

I know it's the worst thing to do
I know I do not have the slightest idea of the difficulty and the complexity
I know I have a 99% chance of destroying my data irretrievably
I know that my data can not be retrieved after that even by a professional
I know that the possibility of recovering my data is less than 1%

So even if the chances of screwing things up are 99% and I do not even get 5% of the data, I will be happy.
I do it more for fun and to learn and understand than to retrieve this data.
To be honest, on this hard drive, there's a lot of rips from my dvds and blurays as well as my cd collection and I know that it's going to take me weeks and weeks and weeks of all re-rip again and I especially lazy.
I add that I have no sense of taking money from the pocket of professionals because this hard drive would never pass into their hands.

Which is why I would like to know which donor disc to choose? must it be exactly the same? And what head combs to choose for this model of hard disk?
