No need to know any commands to reset GList and pwd.
Only PBA access is required

And SMART as well...
To calculate the correct PBA, however, you need to know the Zone Tables, so some VSC is still needed. Am I wrong?

ZT can try to parse from the ROM. (, without commands) but in principle, you can do without it.
Reading Maxlba +1, Maxlba + 2,MaxLba+N.... We in some step get and system objects (P/G lists, SMART, S...)

Get one of those locked drives (DVR) and backup all CPs including DD.

Use soemthing like SeDiv and clear/format ALL firmware tracks.

You can't do this. The tools like SeDiv, MRT, PC3K don't read ALL modules and CP's, just what they are allowed to. They can't clear/format ALL firmware tracks because some parts of them are write protected (and maybe read protected as well).

Why make formatting? You just need to find this (these) PBA. (related to DVRlock) And only then to try to apply regeneration.
When erasing the system zone, you will lose a lot of interesting things
(from SelfScan logs, to some overlays, prototypes CP, etc.)

Did you test it yourself to remove a DVR lock on a Toshiba drive or ar you just "guessing" ?

i haven't seen such discs.

Because i don't know where those PBAs are !!! I don't even know the format of the DVR lock module !!! If i apply a full SA format at least ALL of that will be gone .... Assuming the lock is there to start with.

But when you subtract all SA, you'll be able to filter out the digital trash, and experiment with a smaller number of PBA
As long as we assume they're on the track starting with PList (2 ?)

Hi
Sorry i was not here, and also i forget the my post.

yes i can upload the ROM original and donor and new created,

I am using Hex. there is no chance that i missed the module.

After shift all CP to donor ROM, first problem was its pwd locked.

just clear password and its unlocked

if you read the hdd sector in pc3000, then speed is perfect 80MB/s

but if you use any other tool, mrt, victoria, hdtune and any other, its like read look ahead, and write cache

i not do research on this, for last 1 month.

Kind regards

Hi
With Pc3k only the Physical Test run with full speed.
Normal Verify is like Read look ahead.

If i use Enable Read look Ahead in RAM, no effect on the hard disk.

I also discus with My teacher, he also thinking for finding Modules, because there is no header in the start on Toshiba CP, its very difficult to find Modules in Toshiba.
I mean Exact modules, until VSC command and documentations.

till now, i have unlocked the hard disk, but have issue with Read look ahead, and writing test not start showing ERR Lights on all Sectors.

I thought that there might be some lock in the Firmware Area, and that area also available in the ROM part,

Like half adaptive in Firmware SEction and some part in Platers and some in ROm.

When all get compatiable hdd start work properly.

do you have any Vender command to unlock password by Pc3k ATA shell ?

I am trying to finish my New Lab, and then i share ROM , i think take 1 or 2 more days

Kind Regards

Has there been any progress with the write problem? I have a potentially simple solution, but I'd like to see a full track dump of both patient (locked) and donor (unlocked).

Looks interesting ....

I'm wondering if the locked drive uses the same security module (S) on track #2 (?). If not, and if this module is not present in the locked SA, then the unlocked ROM code might be dropping back to read-only mode. My proposed solution would be to write an unlocked S module to the SA.

See http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2552&start=20

- If you do a factory format of all tracks for example with SeDiv "S" will be cleared like G-List, S.M.A.R.T., etc as all tracks will be gone (on platter). Now if you power off/on drive will be ATA locked. You have to re-create "S" using for example same VSC to clear password as that will make the drive produce the initial "S" and write it on track.

Toshiba drives don't clear "S" module , SMART module, etc.....They replace them with template modules that are stored on the same tracks....Format tracks will erase the template modules as well...
