 Post subject: Solder pads on non-SATA side of 2.5-inch Hitachi 7K500 ??

On a discarded 2.5-inch Hitachi 7K500 (HTS725050A9A362) there are two small leads attached to two small solder pads on the front (non-SATA-connector side) of the drive. I've never seen this before. What are they used for? Thanks.

That is not normally done by the HDD manufacturers, it seems to be a thermal sensor that uses apple, but I can not assure you.

Ah, yes. Thanks to mhp666, mr_spokk, and Google I see now that it's actually a small glued-on sensor. I originally (and mistakenly) took it to be wires soldered onto pads on the drive.
