Hi all,
I've this pendrive with shorted controller. I need to recover data.

The controller ic is: SSS 6691 H1-M6C J4803-580B 1044
The NAND chip is: Phison HVPF4F5 115T051LF-3S-1

Because I don't have a nand reader, I tought to replace the controller. Is this right way?
If yes, the problem is to found a donor. Where I can search? Same pendrive is no longer available to buy on line.

Thanks.
Pak

Usually it is hard to find matching donor, and it is risky for data. Best way is chip-off method.

Thanks for your reply, arvika.

In order to invest..., which tools do you suggest for chip-off method?

For one case only? None. It not pay back. Better if you outsource the case.

+1

You’re looking at around $2100 for Soft Center reader and software licence, which is the best for this horrible controller.

http://www.flash-extractor.com/shop/

Or probably $300 to have it recovered professionally.
