Nothing worth paying for, the best I can tell.

That's £623 at today's exchange rate. Completely ridiculous. They are doing away with their only big advantage in this market. ie, being able to pay a small amount each month.. Tried to contact them yesterday but still waiting for a reply. I think I am going to give up on MRT. You can't charge these sort of prices and provide such awful support.

From what I've got from MRT it's $130 one off payment for version 2.1.4.X of the software and if you want the upgrade for SSD work then the online version is $50 for the first month then $30/monthly after that. If the software really does help with SSD recovery then it seems worth it but I haven't heard much that has been very positive..

That it took MRT 3 days to get back to me isn't great support. I can't see this product having much future if this continues. Also, they really need to get somebody who can read and write both Chinese and English to sort out their tutorials, such as they are.

Once you activate the SSD, there is no going back. So, your monthly recharge goes up from $130 to $180.

I haven't activated the SSD functions as I already have PC3000 SSD and MRT doesn't even try to say that they can compete with them.

I have said it over and over again. The only value that MRT can bring to labs who already have PC3000 is to improve their version of DE so that imaging processes can be moved over from PC3000 to free up channels. However, MRT's file system support is very limited as is their ability to save data out after imaging. Had they made a way to move a task back and forth between MRT and PC3000, then we could, at the very least, image with MRT and then use PC3000 to do the file system recovery and save the data out to destination, properly splitting good and damaged files without losing the file path of the damaged files and without the long file path issues they introduced with adding more than 64 characters to the the path.

The choice to purchase MRT comes down to a few different factors:

1. price (monthly payment plan is a huge bonus)
2. user doesn't care about good tech support
3. user doesn't care about poor design of the program
4. user doesn't care about the lack of useful features offered with PC3000
5. user doesn't care about the quality of the file system recovery
6. just want to test the waters of data recovery without the investment of a non resealable product

If you don't do a lot of recoveries and/or have never used something better, you may find that MRT is good enough. But, I spoke to a lot of people who had Salvation Data tools who thought the same, until they had their eyes opened with PC3000. I suspect that there are hundreds of data recovery pros here who can attest to ditching Salvation Data almost instantly after getting PC3000 and I imaging that there are several pros here who can say the same when they got PC3000 after using MRT first.

The best I can tell, MRT wants to get in on the "Western" market without giving the quality of product and support that the Western market expects.

Sounds spot on. For somebody like me who can't afford the PC3000 prices and don't specialise in data recovery I thought MRT would be ideal, but it's too buggy and the price increase means I would probably be better with Rapidspar. At least that company seems to be very professional and offer decent support.

Exactly. If you aren't getting several recovery projects in a week, RapidSpar is an excellent option and you can just outsource the odd physical recovery to a trustworthy lab in the UK like PCImage.

When you start to see the number of jobs increase to the point of justifying getting PC3000, then you can explore the investment.

For me the question is quite simple, is it worth paying $ 40 / month to have the MRT SSD version and for them to develop this product further? Very short answer: YES, it's worth it.

But why pay now $40 for an undeveloped product??
Just to say it's updated?

Better wait for the developed version, and THEN start to pay.

What does the $40 for the SSD option give you at the moment? It would be handy to have hardware that could deal with SSD issues but I wouldn't pay for something that doesn't currently work properly .

Do you get a different rate in the US? I'm already charged $180 for a monthly recharge (or the sterling equivalent which is around £140) in the UK without the SSD extra..

I was just referring to the numbers they posted. This is what I see under my account should I chose to move forward with the upgrade:

Quote:
Currency: USD
Amount: 150
Remark: SSD Total Amount = Upgrade Amount(Down Payment) + Installment = 150 + 1200 = 1350
Down Payment: 150 + Spread = 150 + 0 = 150
Monthly Renewal Fee: from 180 to 230
Full Amount: the increment is 1200, from 4140 to 5340

So, it is $150 to enable SSD plus adding $50 for each time I charge the card until I get to $1200, making the SSD add-on $1350 USD. For me to add SSD to my PC3000 Express (4 channels), it is $2750 USD.

I see now. All getting a bit complicated though when the actual services offered are a bit vague to say the least..

I'd be happy to pay the $150 to add the SSD functionality to see what it can do. But, if it is as limited as I believe, I don't want to be stuck paying an extra $50 every time I recharge my card on the rare occasion when need the 4 extra imaging channels.

Let's be fair and look at the competition.

PC-3000 MOBILE: Unique all-in-one solution for recovering data from mobile devices:
http://www.acelaboratory.com/news/newsitem.php?itemid=206

This product was announced on May 31, 2017. As of now it's still just vapourware. If you've been holding off buying alternative solutions, then you would have missed out on 2.5 years of recoveries.

That's the difference between MRT and ACELab.
Acelab, although have announced the Mobile tool, is not yet available to purchase, so no money asked or charged.
I have seen it working (and touched my hands on it), but they feel that the tool, when comes out, should be the more powerful and working as possible.
And this takes time to do.

MRT announced their SSD utility several years back, and it's still not working properly. So, why buy it??

HDDSuperclone is better cloner from what I heard.
