Hey there I have a WD2000 that I flashed with the wrong firmware now it thinks it's a WD120. I of course forgot to backup the firmware and I don't have a firmware I can put back on the HD. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Not if you've "flashed" (?) the whole firmware.

The defect lists and adaptive modules are unique to the drive.

Exactly what do you mean by "flashed the wrong firmware"? You mean re-wrote all modules with PC0-3000 / Salvation?

It's an EISA PC-3000 and I went into the "Work with Firmware" and then selected to read firmware and then hit enter not noticing that instead of reading the firmware from the drive to the system in order to make a backup of it I instead wrote the firmware for a WD120 to the drive instead.

help........

I think you might struggle with ISA PC3000 anyway, it only supports up to 136Gb (or something like that).

I purchased and update for it a while back an it supports up to 250GB drives and have had pretty good luck with fixing small issues. But I really need this firmware to move on, any one know where I can find it?

write modules from a an identical drive, same DCM if possible, re-power drive & see if it will show ready, do a defect scan & save to file, clear P-list & g-list you have written from donor firmware, add defects from previous scan to P-list, recalculate translator with p-list & pray.......
