hello forum,
i have some general questions regarding the modules for hard drives and am wondering if anyone can shed some light.

i am working on a hard drive and this applies to other drives also,
when a hard drive has modules such as copy 0,1 and F does one need all three modules to operate correctly in order to recover data or is it sufficent to have one module working eg module copy 0?
are all the modules 0,1 and F stored on the drive platter and are read and accessed from there or do these modules reside on the electronics board also?
with specifice regard to modules how can one learn about the different modules and purposes, is there some reading material one can recommend?

i thank you for all your help

Location: In ur HDD !
Acelab manual has good info regarding modules and as for the copy is concerned it is different for all brands like in maxtor the primary copy ie copy 0 should be fine for normal drive operation but in WD both copies should be good for drive to operate normally .
