Dear HDD Guru Members,

This community used to be a place where anyone could discuss virtually anything, as long as it relates to hard drives in any form. I always respected each and every HDD Guru member and their opinion, and I always tried to do only very light moderation, allowing maximum possible freedom for everyone. I have never deleted or altered a single post because I do not like or disagree with it, even if it directly impacts my own business.

It's been like that since year 2003. However, what I have recently found out really surprised me (in a very bad way).

I hate and regret to do this but I will have to call some names you know so well.

You all remember some companies spamming these forums advertising their products. Usually these attempts were obvious and posters were warned/banned and posts removed. Thankfully, they (mostly) realized that it is just not going to work and only does harm.

Long story short, I found out that several members of HDD Guru Community work for Ace Laboratory and actively promote their product (PC-3000/PC3000) for quite a long time.

I am listing their names:
Money fan – View all posts by Money fan
mateomao – View all posts by mateomao
Creator – View all posts by Creator

You will notice that most of their posts are about how good PC-3000 is and how bad all other products are.

I am still working to find out if there are more members involved.

I respect many years of hard work that Ace Lab put into PC3000; it is really an impressive product with lots of features. But why does Ace Lab have to act like that and promote their product in such a dishonorable way? I have no idea. The bottom line: permanent promotion of PC-3000 and other Ace Lab products as well as their repetitive attacks against other products has to end.

Now I am deciding what to do with all posts made by the above mentioned members. I cannot simply delete them because that would break a lot of discussions. I am considering several options, and I will let you know once I decide.

I'm a supporter of the ACE products. I guess I should give 'em a call and see if I can get on their payroll.

Exactly As I thought.

Hi, Creator , how much you earn by lickking ACE's ass? Will you register another account and continue your "honorable career"?

Let's open our eyes wide and watch the freak SHOW.

I just hate ignoble sneak attack.

The truth will be seen by the minority.

Good luck!

Well, I totally agree with that... for some times that we are used to see that... and not only that, some other objectable things as well... but I agree on removing their posts and adding some message into all them so it won't break the posts.

Wait a minute . . . isn't this the same company that has used a bunch of sock-puppets to promote its own products?

Laura, would this the correct Chinese word for that kind of behavior?

偽君子

Hi guys,
I won't create new account (like some known promoters do) and I'm still here. This is not my job to promote something. Maybe I offend the "God" of this forum therefore he pour out the pail of slush on me. I think my question about price of Atola was boiling-point
Laura, I think we're from same company, so please, do not hurt me :P

Dmitriy,
Apart from the posts, are there any more clues/hints (like IP, or information from any other source).
As being an active member of this forum, I would definitely love to put off the darkness. Could you shed more light on it?

Also, the forum knows me the as the biggest Anti-Spammer (OK OK. Not the forum, it's my self made image. ). Most of the times, I informed you personally about every spamming activity on the forum. So, if it's like a cheap promotioning activity from Ace, It's definitely deserve kicking.
BTW, as the punishment to the salesmen, the signature you altered is not visible in every post. Only in this topic. Is it a kind of warning, or it was somewhat not supposed to be there in their every post? If not, what will be their ultimate destiny?

Though, there are something, which really smells fishy about them. First of all, right after banging them, two out of three supposedly spammers have either left the forum, or simply ignoring it. Which definitely proves the point.

Second, as per creaters profile, he has changed more then three locations since joining. At very first, he used to write "Mumbai, the capital of Data Recovery" which points to India. Then, he changed his location to something else in russia. Then, something else (I don't remember exactly), and now the cook islands. What's the deal?

And finally to Creator:
If you are not supposed to be the one, what you are being blamed about, why don't you clear up the points buddy? Also, the first response you gave, was the worst response of this forum. That was the most irresponsible response ever.

Oh, Maysoft has unmasked me

Finally Dmitriy,
This matter is more in darkness, then it's in light. So, I would request to you please provide more details about it. So that, the whole story could be unfolded.
