Looking for someone that wants to sell a used LEGAL HRT (not the pirated card).

I'm looking for HRT 3.0 Full (C version) or HRT DRE UDMA 5.0 Full version, at a reasonable price (because newer drives are not supported by it).

I don't know if i will get any issues activating the HRT card if it's already activated on another machine (used) and i don't know if the card will have the same license limitations as Ace PC-3000 regarding installing on one computer and can't be re-sold.

If someone have the legal version of HRT 5.0 and are interested in selling please PM me with a quote plus shipping to Portugal.

I've contacted BVG too on the meantime, but if i can save some money by aquiring a used unit the better, as i intend to use it for study and playing with it rather than to work with newer drives, that most likely will not be supported.

Please only seriouse persons only, with some reputation on HDDGuru or a Data Recovery Business that i can verify, as i don't intend to send money to people that i don't know or have a very small number of posts here on HDDGuru (because of the obviouse reasons).

And as an extra question, does anyone have experience buying from BVG group that can share ? Is HRT easy to activate and will it work on XP 32 bit ?

The pirated card would only work on 98 but i guess the legal version will pose no problem with XP, correct ?

Regards.

Still looking for this.

I was quoted $1400 USD for a USED unit when acording to the official site here :

http://www.bvg-group.ru/eng/diagnostic/price.php

HRT 5.0 price NEW DRE version (data extrector) - 40 000 RUB (Russian)

40,000.00 RUB +- = 854.00 USD

Regards.

Hi there !

I know that i can get a cheap MRTLab tool (that is a PC-3000 Ripp off by the looks of the software) or alternative tools like Sediv, or even a pirated drivestar pc-3000 pci (ok, i confess, i have one of those as well) and all of that would support way more drives then HRT (old and outdated).

I do have a very old pirated HRT that only works on win 98 and doesn't have the data extractor / clone functions.

I'm looking for a version of HRT that works on windows XP (legal 5.0 should do so) for researching intro old drives like Quantum and old WD CAVIAR, and also that it's PCI based card (not PCI Express) to plug on older machines.

Also HRT have the VERY POWERFULL ATA console to send ATA commands to the drive. Yes i can do the same with MHDD scripts or HDDL. but working from windows xp and been able to connect the drive to the HRT card itself would be a big advantage over booting from DOS. Also would be nice to use the commands that i have stored on the win98 old pirated version on the xp machine.

The fact that older HRT (and even HRT Demo) only works from windows 98 (no, compatibility mode will not work as well) is a real issue.

Also i do like the GUI (user interface) of HRT allot.

Regards.

Sure .... I will IF i ever get one :) Otherwise i can't take screenshots of something that i do not have neither have access to ... :( :( :(

Older pirated version will look like this :

http://malthus.mooo.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=98

At any rate HRT is a very OLD, OUTDATED product that will only work on old drives. Even the legal latest HRT will be more outdated than pirated pc-3000 pci.

At any rate thanks for your coment on the thread. I'm looking for this particular product to help in my HDD study and research, not to fix / do data recovery on drives. MRTLab would be a "cheap" alternative if i wanted something to fix clients drives, and i do have access to the legal PC-3000 UDMA as well.

I'm not looking for ALTERNATIVES, i'm loking specificly for the HRT 3.0 or 5.0 preferencial the "C" version (not the basic) that allow bigger level of costumization to use on research.

Regards.

What is an HRT tool... ? What makes it desirable? How is it different from the PC-3000 ? (and if anyone has the time - can someone tell me what makes MRT less than optimal?)

Thanks!

Truman

Many years ago way prior to MRT to even exist there were PC-3000 ISA, SD Tools and HRT. HRT is a VERY OLD, outdated, not supported, no longer maintained firmware tool that will work (without user made changes) on older drives.

http://www.hddoracle.com/viewforum.php?f=30

This is my card :

http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1168

HRT is VERY GOOD for FIRMWARE RESEARCH like this :

http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=1192

But it's NOT a firmware tool for modern drives that will work without aditional knowledge like PC-3000, MRT, etc ...

In other words if you don't even know what HRT is then you don't need it for sure.

HRT does have a nice set of ATA terminals for standard ATA commands and "special" terminals for MAXTOR and QUANTUM so IF YOU DO KNOW THE INTERNAL VENDOR SPECIFIC COMMANDS yourself (and you probably don't know them) you can issue those commands using the HRT ATA terminal for firmware research and study.

In other words while PC-3000, MRT, ETC will have the commands on the software like you click on "read module" and it will issue the commands to the drive (without you knowing what commands the tool is using) on HRT you do use the terminal to issue the commands yourself.

While on PC-3000 ACE do ADD support for newer drives, etc with HRT you do have to KNOW how to access the firmware yourself so that you can specify the details on ini files to "add" support for newer drives.

My site is full of examples. Just check this thread :

http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=176

Go to "research" and ALL of those links there for each brand of drive do have my research work on firmware using mainly HRT.

Regarding MRT - PC-3000 comparision let's say that MRT is a "Chinese" product that have "some" functionality "inspired" on PC-3000 with a huge amount of bugs and lack of support and in-time updates. When a drive is added to PC-3000 only way later (if ever) it's added to PC-3000.

If you check threads like this - viewtopic.php?f=28&t=36731 you will see what makes MRT a "crippled" product hen comparing with PC-3000 ...

Also stuff like this ...
