My old Toshiba stopped working. I tried HDD LLF and this was the result:

Current date and time: 11/08/2018 02:29:54 p.m.
HDD Low Level Format Tool 4.40; http://hddguru.com
Device details for [2] TOSHIBA MK7559GSXP GN00 [750,15 GB] (1465149168 512-byte sectors)

Details are unavailable: Internal error.
Please post this problem on http://forum.hddguru.com

Does it mean I have to throw it away? Is there another way to recover it?
Thanks.

You can recover it but you do need to take it to a professional. I'm not sure how they do it (Like a pc repair shop) but a lot of them are experts at recovering data as well. Ask around. It might not be too late.

Did you manage to sort this out ?

If you need the data you shouldn't run low level format (zero fill) as all data will be replaced with zeros and will be gone for good.

If the goal is to re-use the drive it might still be possible to disable bad zones, ignore bad head, etc .... of course you do need specialized data recovery tools like PC-3000, MRT, SeDiv, etc ....

Might be "easy" to refurb your drive depending of the problem .... But then again if you don't need the data it's cheap to just replace the drive ...

BAD IDEA.

When you do need the data on the drive take it to a reputable data recovery firm and NEVER to a regular/ordinary computer repair shop .... Normaly computer repair shops will not have knowledge and tools to handle damaged drives .... Unless they do specify that they do data recovery and have stuff like DDI4, PC-3000, etc but even so there will be limitations and most likely they will outsource clean room work and even firmware work ...

Others will just kill your data for good.
