I have a WD2500 HDD that bios detected as "WDC ROM MODEL-HAWK"

Few weeks ago, it suddenly give out "click... click... click...." sound and the HDD was disappear from Windows.
Reboot the system and the "click" sound continue.
But it runs again after rest for a while.
The HDD is checked using HDTune and shows no problem for the S.M.A.R.T.

It was removed from the computer before I get my new HDD to backup the data.
But when my new HDD is ready, that WD2500 cannot be detected properly anymore.

It give out 3 "click... " sounds and then feel like powered off.
The bottom plastic looks like a little bit melted.

Can anyone tell me what's the problem?
PCB or motor or head?
Will the disc hurt? Can I recover my data?

Thank you very much!
