Hi,

I have MP0402H which motor doesn't stabilize rotation, LED gives me error code 0x16.
Can I move platter, pcb and heads to the MP0603H drive? Both drives are M40 Rev.A.
Motor label of MP0402H is M40 NSX8202109 and MP0603H is M40 BSXC272108
Data is not worth very much :)

Thanks in advance

"0x16" can be caused by many things. Check THOROUGHLY everything.
PCB swap alone WON'T work. About using different heads, you have to check head mapping to use heads from other drives, albeit from same family (M40).

I am aware of DIY results.
I have done platter change successfully a few times and want to learn more.

:rip:

This is all what i can say for this.
I have seen some drive with similar problem, but none was motor problem.
The spindler works or stucked, no other option in this model.

Buy a new drive and move on, otherwise you only will get frastrated with this issue.

Never seen bad motor in this series.

I think your problem is somewhere else.

Data recovered 100%. And yes, it wasn't motor problem.
Thank you all for hints.

what was the problem? It's not helpful starting a thread and not following it up.
