The magic being in how it knows what to send and how to interpret it
Plus maybe some documentation on special jumper settings to use on certain drive to put them into 'safe-mode'
Plus a libary of loaders and modules
Plus ongoing development of new loaders etc for new HD models
Thats right, PC-3000 uses two IDE slots to connect IDE drives or adapters for other drives. As I can see from MHDD manual, it can do only basic things and it is not designed to fix service area modules or perform their diagnostics.
Manual says we can only see SMART, read write sectors from surface and set/ remove passwords and change some drive's settings (HPA, noise parameters
LBA48 etc). its not possible to interact directly to drive's service area with this product.

Did not found any descriptions for this in MHDD Manual. If you've got one, please show it to me. mhdd - its a tool to light data recovery cases.

Its rather difficult to compare two products since they are not equal and they are created for different types customers. You are right, it takes years before your hard drive researches start working for you.  |

Yes, it's not easy to start when there are a lot of other companies doing the same job in your place. But now many markets are occupied and finding a place in IT that is not much occupied and able to give good money is not also that easy.
At least you can try. In three-five months you will understand yourself if you can go further or it is better to change. Anyway it will be a good experience for you.

Look at the experience of the other companies in UK and make conclusions what should be done and what shouldn't.
Indeed now there are a lot of data recovery companies in the place you open your biz, market analysis will be useful. |

All that is created by human beings can be damaged. SSD will also break. Maybe even some other problems will appear, but each SSD won't work without any fault for many years.

I agree with hddguy.
This is a bit similar to cars - why not to make a faultless cars which will be running for 30-50 years without any need to fix something? The science progress is developed enough... Of course, the technologies are different there, but the tendecy is similar. |

| Some time ago this thread appeared here. Most people prefer to keep such info for themselves only and give just approximate charges. And even if they tell the charges, it is for no use for those who are from another countries, various countries - various price levels... |

Yes, I am fan of ACE, but not their worker as already claimed there.
When somebody says good things about any company, they are accused. When somebody tells bad things they are again accused. What for then to tell anything?
We all need to be more objective. Forums exist to help people express their opinions, and opinions are individua. We can agree with them or disagree. Obviously, it's good thing to exchange opinions. My point of view is the following, if anybody has another point of view, it's normal. |

| But it's not always easy to understand how is time waster and who is a serious customer. Once I had a customer, obvious time waster, he came to me several times, asking for quotes, after I told that quotes won't be free now, he gave his drive and I recovered it. It was my favourite 7200. |
