I wondered if there were any known issues with the firmware on WD800UE series drives? At the moment I can not not access any LBA value. The heads seem OK, and I have access to the SA. I have errors on modules (on both heads 0 & 1) on:

0034 - G-List
0032 - RBBLIST
0021 - SMART Table
0022 - SMART Table

I've tried resetting the G-list & SMART but it does not make a difference. I don't have a donor for this drive I only have the more common WD800UE-xxHCT0.

Any help with this one would be much appreciated,

best wishes,
John

Rewrite all modules from close matching donor, clear SMART, clear GLIST, rebuild translator.

Yes I had a feeling that might be the case, now just the task of finding WD800UE-00KVT0 firmware in SD format! I've found a WD1200UE-00KVT0 which might do the job, I will post the results,

best wishes,
John

can't you use pc3000 mods in SD?

Just rename the file extensions or compare mods in hex editor.

Or buy a donor.
