 Post subject: Cannot access smart and sensor data via esata?

Good day,people.
I think I could use some help determining what is wrong with the external HDD enclosure I got today.
It's a Verbatim esata & usb combo enclosure with a SAMSUNG HD103SI disk inside.
The problem is,I cannot acquire the smart data of the disk when it hooks up with my rig with esata.
I tried hddscan,hddtune,everest,hard disk sentinel but still no dice.
It also seems that alot of the features of the disk cannot be detected by the various softwares.
So,any pointer on what may be wrong with the disk.
