So as in my earlier question(the reason for which I guess I know now) i installed an hdd after backing up data onto it and reformatting my other hard drive. This new 1 TB Seagate HDD shows up in device manager but not in my computer.
I checked the problem in disk management and there the device shows up but as foriegn dynamic, now I'm taking a wild guess that to be able to use this disk from my computer i have to right click it and select import foriegn disk. But am worried that it'll cause me to loose all my data.
So i was wondering is it safe to do this? also do I have to change it to basic disk once I'm done importing it(I have heard that that causes data loss)?\
Please reply asap
Thanx alot.

Right-click and import ONLY - that's its intended purpose. I've done that numerous times and it works fine, no data loss.

Do NOT convert it to basic, that will wipe the partition table and cause loss of all the data.
