Hi

I got this old fujitsu that got setn to pc-world and after i got it back it was not spinning any more. Guys broke clips and missing screws after got back.
I got replacement PCB from same drive - spins up but does this noise now.

Does the eeprom need to be transferred to new pcb?

Thanks

What do you mean by that?
You had it first and then it was sent out somewhere and you got it back?

it's not difficult to pinpoint the problem on the pcb and SA. Check rom and eeprom first. ROM or mcu problem give always bsy usually.

The native board goes to ready - no spin up though. And if you try to spin down/ Read sector goes to ERR and thats it.

Same happens with donor pcb except it spins up and does that clicking.

I read that the red phosphorus inside the arm chip caused the chip to break down and caused millions of failures on drives using that chip.
