So I am working on a drive; the importance is low, but I would like to figure out this issue.

Diamondmax 22 (7200.11)

MX15 FW

INITIAL OUTPUT
---------------

Rst 0x20M

(P) SATA Reset

LED:000000CC FAddr:0024CDC9
Rst 0x20M

(P) SATA Reset

LED:000000CC FAddr:0024CDC9
Rst 0x20M

(P) SATA Reset

I fixed this problem by removing the PCB completely, and issued /2 Z

Put PCB back on, /U

That problem is gone.

N1

i4,1,22

when attempting to regen the translator the drive spins down immediately (as soon as I hit enter I see the 12v drop to ~1-5ma.

Has anyone seen this? Could be instability of head/s is my guess. But I am not 100% versed in seagate firmware so maybe someone could shed some light.

Thanks!

Yep, had a similar one of these last week. Best thing to do is go make lunch and take a walk, or something
