I am a newbie actually i tried solving my problem at hp support because my laptop is in warranty but no solution
so i found this website best for my problem

Actually Hp's notebook with Oem O.S comes with recovery partition for incase of data recovery and you can also backup on dvd's

How i Got Stuck
I was installing hp's bios webos which is faster on boot to watch movies than window 7 so it asked for another partition for boot
it required 399mb of space but there was only 104mb of unallocated space(now there where three drives 1)Windows2)Recovery3)Hp_tool[104mb created by that software]) so i downloaded Norton Partition Magic to extend the third drive for about 450mb for that software but when i installed it ,while first startup it asked some thing related to space or sector which is'nt fixed with yes/no option (like 45307 was not 45356) i clicked yes but it failed to start i removed it but after restarting my laptop other day i saw only my windows drive and other 2 were gone ?
i checked disk mangement drives were there but with no details,no letters,no characterstics
then i downladed easeus to check those drives and it showed them with their labels but no letters,and files were there

now i only need your help to make them visible to my computer please help me out with this when i try to mount drive letters it gives error

You are not guaranteed success using any free website. Some situations are best solved "face-to-face", where the expert has the disk in front of him.

Unfortunately some parts of your description are unclear, for example:


Your comment does not give the exact error message; it does not explain how you are trying to mount the drives; it does not give the exact drive letters which are affected etc. etc.

In your situation, it may be easier/quicker/cheaper for you to buy the restore DVDs from HP, then backup your disk drive (then test the backup to make sure is readable!), totally erase the disk drive, rebuild from the restore DVDs, and then restore your backup. Have you considered doing that?

I normally avoid helping do remote disk editing, due to the risks/frustrations/time that are involved. It is often a slow process. Occasionally other members here do provide that help, so you might be lucky - but you might not.

The basic advice that I suggest, is that you make sure to clone your whole 500GB disk drive now (e.g. onto an external USB disk) so that you can restore that clone if needed and return back to where you are now, in case any of your other recovery attempts make the situation even worse.

After you have a clone of your whole disk (to act as a backup), then you could try the open-source Testdisk tool, to see if it can find where the start of your previous recovery partition was. It is also possible that looking at the partition table (e.g. using Microsoft Sector Inspector) will show some obvious changes which could be tried - but as I said, I recommend that you make a clone of the whole disk first. You can search the forum for suggested cloning software (Windows & Linux), depending on what suits you..

I am not promising to help further, but I hope you use my advice to clone your disk drive now, before trying anything else.

CHECK THOSE IMAGES MIGHT HELP YOU UNDERSTAND ,I CAN CLONE THAT DRIVE BUT RECOVERY PARTITION WONT WORK THAT WAY,
I MENTIONED BEFORE I HAVE BACKUP DVD'S I JUST WANT RECOVERY DRIVE BACK ITS BEST WAY OF RECOVERY PLZ HELP

You said "WONT WORK", but that is ambiguous in English. If you think I was suggesting to clone the disk as a fix, then no, that is not the reason. My suggestion of making a full clone of the whole disk, is so that if you make a change (e.g. if you try a fix) and the situation becomes worse, then you can perform the clone again in the opposite direction (i.e. from your backup copy), and then you have reversed the change which caused problems. In other words, the clone is a full backup which you can restore, if needed.

Or did you mean that when you clone the disk, the recovery partition is not included? Good cloning software would included every block on the disk, since in your case, there is no evidence of unreadable blocks.


No, you didn't say before that you have backup DVDs. You actually said: "you can also backup on dvd's". In English, that suggests that it is possible to create backup DVDs from the recovery partition. Your previous statement did not say that you already have DVDs - otherwise, of course, I would have changed what I said.

I have seen some laptop recovery DVDs which will recreate the recovery partition (e.g. after installing a new hard disk). That is why I was suggesting you might want to investigate that possibility.

As I said before, I am not going to attempt doing remote disk editing via this web forum, for the reasons I explained in my previous comment. My decision has been confirmed by the communication/language problems already shown here.

The good news for you, is that EASUS seems able to read the filesystem in your recovery partition (see 3.1.jpg which you included). Therefore after you have cloned the disk, to create the backup copy as I explained, then you can either use a local expert who has access to your PC who can examine the partition table & filesystem directly; or you can try tools like Partition Find & Mount, TestDisk etc. if you do not have the skills for direct disk editing yourself.

Of course I am not trying to teach English - but I was pointing out that clear, unambiguous, communication is vital for efficient remote support. If I cannot understand exactly what you are describing, then efficient help becomes impossible. As soon as you started shouting at me (using ALL CAPITALS is considered shouting), and tried to tell me that you had already said something which was actually not clear in your first comments, then I know all hope is lost for helping you.

That is why all I was trying to do, was to recommend you to take a full clone of the drive now, in case any "fix" that you try, actually makes the situation worse - you might really need that! FYI, for the future, a "best practice" would have been to create a backup / clone before making any changes to the disk.

If I had the disk in front of me, then this type of situation is fairly easy to investigate and fix - but not remotely, with difficult communications and shouting. Good luck!

No Buddy its not like that ,thank a lot for your help,if you had any idea about any good software for mounting letter on a drive ,EASEUS and Microsoft disk managment failed to help me in it
