I know this may have been covered, but could not find the thread. Has anyone tried HDDS spindle replacement tool for Seagate? It's quite expensive to buy without knowing that it works and only having animations and no real video of the procedure makes me think less of the product also.

I have not tried it, but based on the quality of Nikola's other tools, I would guess the spindle tool will be pretty good

Designed and had my own solution for this problem made some months ago now. It has made what was previously a difficult and hit and miss job, a whole lot easier and more successful. The cost of design and fabrication was lot less than Nikola's excellent looking solution (as i haven't tried it), but then mine is a lot simpler (but just as effective).

Can You show us something? We would like to see Your idea.
On ours You do not need to take heads or pcb even
It took us 2 years of work, came a bit late.
But it is still 60% of price of other existing solutions ( and i think much better )
