I'm not an IT guru and need help. My external HD when plugged in by USB shows as "Initio default Controller" on device manager and no where else instead of the name I gave it 2 years ago. I can not access it. Is it easily fixable? Thanks.

Hi, it depends on if that controller use decryption or not.
Take it out of from the enclosure and put it in through regular Satacables or put it in a new enclosure, if you can work with it then all is good, if not then the drive is encrypted and need a pro's help.
