Hello,

I have this old HDD from my old Lenovo Z60m. I got problems with the fingerscanner and didn't remember the password anymore.

I used the supervisor password for power on and ata-password.

Well I was able to change the complete mainboard for just 15$ instead of buying some software to read the TPM chip, so the notebook is working.

But I really would like to know what sort of data I got on my hard-drive, its now a few years ago.

Is it possible to get a dump from toshiba drives like the WD drives?

I know there is hddunlock for 10$ and erased data or 50$ to unlock it with A-FF, but thats just not worth it for locking on my old data.

/edit
And yes, I did search a lot about it but never found a solution for this in all these years ;)

A-FF will unlock the drive in "most cases" The other choice is send to a pro for password removal and thats more than $ 50.00 so if the data isn't worth 50.00 then bin the drive and move on. nothing exists for the this drive like the WD that I am aware of since you never provided the make and model of the drive so who can tell ?

If it isn't worth $10 or $50 , get another drive and move on. And sell the old drive "as is" .
