HAY. IHAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY HARD DISC. IT WORKED FINE UNTILL RECENTLY, WHEN I CHANGED THE COMPUTER. THE OLD ONE COMPUTER IS NOT WORKING ANYMORE, SO I REUSED SOME OF THE PARTS FROM IT. AND I CONNECTED HARD DISC INTO A NEW COMPUTER. BUT, ON THE NEW COMPUTER,DISK DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. BIOS, DOES RECOGNIZE IT, AND DETAILS ABOUT IT, BUT, DISK IS NOT ACCESSIBLE. I CAN NOT SEE IT IN ANY OPERATING SYSTEM (WINDOWSXP/DOS). WINDOWS JUST DOES NOT SEE IT, AND IT CAN NOT ACESS IT.
DOES ANYONE KNOW, WHAT CAN CAUSE THIS, AND IS THERE A (FREE) WAY OF CORRECTING THIS PROBLEM?
I WOULD LIKE ANY SUGGESTIONS, TNX. :)

Do you want to recover data from the old drive, or do you want to use the old drive in the new system?
Details of the hard disk and old system and new system?
Does the drive detect as a device in device manager?
If it does not show in device manager,Check using MHDD or HDAT2 .
If you have important data in the drive, be careful about DIY risks.

I WOULD LIKE TO RECOVER DATA (NOT SO MUCH IMPORTANT DATA, BUT STILL...)
I AM USING WESTRN DIGITAL WDC WD1600AAJB-00J3A0 DISK, ON THE WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 3 OPERATING SYSTEM.
AND THAT WAS THE SAME THING ON THE OLD COMPUTER.

NO. NOT AT ALL. WINDOWS DOES NOT DETECT IT ANYWHERE.

THANKS FOR SUGGESTION. :)

If the drive is detecting properly in BIOS, (correct model and size), try to make a clone of the drive and run a recovery tool and get your data.
If the drive is not detected properly, or making clicking noise, you can't do much DIY.
Remember DIY attempts can spoil the drive , so if your data is very important, don't take the risk.

If your drive seems ok, try connecting it to another system and check it.
Try MHDD to check the drive.
Or clone your drive and get your data:
You can use tools like ddresuce(linux) to clone the drive.
(try it with other disks before you use it on this disk to become familiar with the commands)
Clone the drive to another working drive of same or larger capacity.
Then run recovery tools like R-studio to get your data.
