Ok, looking down the pile of old HDDs, I have another interesting one; it's from a Korg 1600 multi track recorder... music hardware. It's a unique Korg OS and it's registry was likely corrupted, rendering it useless in the original system.

Here's the thing; all the audio files are wav and in theory if i had access to the raw data, I could grab two years worth of guitar licks and different things I really want. Like my last post, at the moment, it's not time sensitive enough for me bribe a data recovery place, there is little online data per the OS and Korg is useless as a company to help.

I'd like to find a creative way in using either a wash cloth, toilet plunger and picture of Phyllis Diller, or an enclosure, windows 7 and a dream. I have no photo of Phyllis Diller, but my computer is solid.

Who's got ideas? :)_)

FWIW, I have helped someone recover their audio samples from an Akai MPC2000. The file system was FAT-like.

Akai MPC2000 - analysis of file system:

I could try to help you with yours, but we would need to examine the file system with a disc editor (eg DMDE freeware) in readonly mode. However, I suggest you first clone your drive, sector by sector.

http://dmde.com/

If you would like to proceed, then show us the contents of sector 0.

In DMDE you would ...

    uncheck the Show Partitions box
    select your Physical Drive
    click OK

You should now be at sector 0.

Thanks a lot; I'll do it and post the results.
