If after heads swap the drive not spins, maybe you are not assemblied correctly the HDD.

Have you got experiende in dissasembling and assembling HDDs?

Hi sir,
I have successfully done the cases on most of the samsung hard drives which has head stuck & media issues with head broken from 3 years, have a clean room chamber & tools for the same.

But some particular series of seagate samsiung laptop hard drives has issues in motor rotation after swapping heads from same model drives, i have tried with 2 heads of the same model drive, but still then hdd does not give any rotations, only from its original head, the drive comes into rotation mode. Unfortunately patient heads are broken...

Is the issues are with,
1) Heads are not matching?
2) ROM is coded with preamp readings?
3) Need to match date code apart from Model, pn, fw & site code..?

Check terminal response, I expect you'll see a preamp error there :-)

hddtech, plz post terminal output. If drive does not spin might be not matching preamp.

best regards,
