 Post subject: DVR Recovery ST500DM002

Hi I have Seagate 500 GB Sata Hdd, Drive have PCB Problem so I clone the drive to another hdd. But after cloning I check the partition of patient as well as cloned hdd.....partition showing FAT32 and format option appear when we try to open partition. So please provide any help how to access the data of Hdd....


Any help appreciated.

This is less frequent, but some DVRs may use FAT for their system partition, while generally it's something more Linux-typical.

Usually Windows suggests to initialize the drive first, but that's a bad idea, as after that DVR will not recognize the drive for sure.

The only reasonable thing to try is to install clone back into the DVR and check whether it sees any recordings.
If not, then it's necessary to analyze the drive contents and develop a custom recovery software for the particular DVR you got. We do this regularly.

If necessary, we can help to recover videos from this DVR remotely.

Can you show us the contents of sector 0 in hexadecimal mode? You could use a disc editor such as DMDE (freeware).
