Seagate Expansion 500GB 2.5-inch External HD

I have above Expansion Portable Hard Drive which does not work anymore. It's head is physically damaged.
I don't have that much important data in it which is worth paying to get recovered but If I can I would like to recover them myself. So, I tried to open it and found that the head is damaged (not stuck but was moving back and forth and making a scratching/grinding noise).

Now, I am wondering, should I try to change the head OR should I swap the platter to another identical hard drive(matching the model no /part no and first 3 digit of serial no)? which one is easier or better/safer option?

Would really appreciate any help or suggestion on this. Thanks

The 5400.6 is notorious for disk scratches, typically on the lower surfaces, therefore not visible.
Also, heads are tricky to match.
Unless it is very critical data, likely not worth the money and time investment, sorry (especially doing it yourself).
