I have a hdd which reports readiness after 45 seconds and it is a Maxtor Romulus , Model is 4d040h2 and is have cheked everything all modules and structure modules are ok after reporting readiness the hdd works fine
i cant figure out whats the problem dont need the data just repair hdd .

And what about connected to regular PC?

Same problem the hdd doesnot detect at first attempt in about 30 sec i have to restart the pc < not switch ON/OFF > then it detects and then works fine until the shutdown .

Maybe it has some recalibration problem and it takes some time to reach readyness.
