I have receive a hard drive, but for some reason the jumper settings was set at the 32 GB clip.

I tried setting the jumper settings back to 80 GB:

Using both the 15 and 16 heads.

Each time I boot into windows its *STILL* showing up as 31.50 GB. I have even tried using the NHPA command in the MHDD program (since it amazingly can see the IDE drive, unlike my SATA's) but that still does not work.

Are there any other ways of making Windows see that it is a 80 GB drive (just like my bios detects?) Any option in the Victoria program ?

You need to backup your data, then do a low level format the drive, that should restore it to 80Gb, then create new partition.

I do not know how to distinguish between the two options it gives me for the hard drive since they both are identical drives (its just the ONE that doesnt work is the only difference) The only difference I could find is the "Base / Alt" is different. How do I know I'm selecting the right one? In the following picture, how can I be sure the correct passport is for my D drive:

Under the "tests" tab I see a bullet that says "WRITE" (and that enables a an option of being checked called "Long writing" - but choosing "WRITE" grays out the "Ignore / Erase / Remap / Restore" function... and I don't see where you can set it at 1% either. Where are these options you speak of?

The option with 01F0 base is Primary master port and 0170 is Secandary Master port select the port with which u want to work and u can identify that u have selected the right port or not by seeing the name of the hdd in drive id .
the writing function is the function that i am talking about do it that will erase the data .

hehe thats the problem- they're both PHYSICALLY the same drives, they have the exact same drive id. I think I'm gonna just... disconnect the drive with data so I dont accidently format over it... I'm so paranoid with all my hard drive problems lately :( I'll keep you posted
