well last night i got home booted up my comp and once windows started chk dsk started running, after it ran it went to the windows logo and the comp rebooted, everytime the comp tried to start windows after that it would crash, even with safemode.

So i figured id try and migrate my data usinga vantec IDE to usb hookup, well i plugged in my Maxtor DM9 HDD and i started to smell burning low and behold the logic board was very hot to the touch, i tried to hook it up to another comp and the comp wouldnt recognize the drive and the drive wasnt spinning so i figured the logic board took a dive

will a repalcement board work long enough for me to get the data off the drive? any other suggestions?
