There are two commands in MHDD that will help:

1. NHPA
2. CONFIG (if NHPA won't work, but it should work for your drive)

Hi... thanks for the answers, but i check the commands in MHDD and the BIOS, however all likes good...

some more infos to the disk: the 40GB disk is a spare part for a 30GB disk and i think to downsize the disk there is a tool available.

A technician in a repair center use a toool on a floppy, boot from the floppy and started a software to downsize the disk. I ask the technician... pls give me the software, but no chance.

someone a idea....

regards to all TOFU

This can happen also because your BIOS doesn't support disks over 32GB.
Did you try this drive on another machine?
