Hi all,

i am interested in your thoughts about laminar flow cabinets, i am looking at setting up a clean room in our office, 2 choices are
1 laminar flow cabinet on our existing workbench, while these are certified to class 100 they are still open but are less complicated than a class 100 clean room with the uniforms etc,
option2, clean room but these are very expensive when set up correctly and as i am still getting into this i am trying to be careful with the initial spend till more work comes in,
then i thought mabye a laminar flow cabinet class 100 built into a closed room which could be made from gyprock and glass panel with antistatic vinyl on the floor, while this is not a clean room it would still be a class 100 area in the laminar flow cabinet, i see it as being a cleaner way then having a laminar flow cabinet in a larger room,
has anyone here gone down this path ? i would also be interested to know what setups people are using? and whether they had them professionally built or sourced materials themselves such as hepa filters/fans/ ESD walls and built them alone and then had them certified by an authority?

thx for all the help

Hi,

If you want to have a class 100 place that cannot be contaminated, you can also use a glovebox. They exist in different sizes. Then the disk is completely isolated from the surroundings, but working with these gloves is not easy!

Best regards,

Dobre
