Ok i have a ST3802110A USB 2.0 3.5" Seagate 80gb HDD and i've recently been having some problems with it. The drive is relatively new maybe 9 months or so and I think i know why i started having problems. I was using the optimize for perfomance setting but switching on/off the drive when i please and at some point i got Windows Delayed write errors. I quickformatted but to my surprise the write failed was still there so i try to full format -> froze at 76%. Using HDDScan and MHDD i was able to determine i have some bad blocks and a bit more red/orange/green blocks at around 76% and at around 80%. Now i've used HDDWipe on it -> completed successfully, MHDD Erase - same thing, then as instructed by MHDD FAQ i did SCAN with Delay Erase -> ON and after it completed SCAN with REMAP -> ON but it had no effect, i didn't even see it trying to remap or erase the sectors it was as if i just ran a normal analyzing scan. Maybe i am doing something wrong i dont know. I was using the Magic Boot Disk 2.0 MHDD distribution with the USB Dos driver. So i will post the bad/red/orange/green block count and i would like to know if there are options for me. Mind you i just want the bad/red/orange/green blocks out of my usable disk space i dont want any recovery i dont mind losing some disk space but i have no idea if this is possible. So if someone can help and tell me if my HDD is a goner or if there is still hope and alternatives i would really appreciate it.
Here is the scan data:( max LBA is 156301488)
My bad/green/red/orange blocks start appearing at about LBA : 119130624
My bad/green/red/orange blocks end at about at LBA : 12500000 ( there are a few more upwards but very rare, also this LBA range not all blocks are delayed but this is the range that they appear in)
I have 39 bad blocks in total, ~500 green blocks in total, ~300 orange blocks in total, ~150 red blocks in total.
Thank you in advance.
