Hey everyone I just took a hard drive recovery training in Atlanta and I was more than satisfied. We were 8 people in the class and the class was EXCELLENT. We got to open more than 4 HDs each to change/swap/replace the actuators, platters, head stacks, PCB boards and given a lots of info. The class goes for 5 days and at the end if you pass the test you get a certificate as well certified by MHDD certificate review board. Just wanted to share my experience. The trainer is awesome, Scott Moulton is his name, best lecturer/trainer I've ever met, check out his videos, you will be impressed, he is a hard drive hacker, just type Scott Moulton on youtube or go to
http://www.myharddrivedied.com. If you are interested to get more info let me know.

What's the "MHDD certificate review board"?
October 2nd, 2008, 0:26
He has many mistakes in his presentation, this presentation is for "dummies"

Yeah, I'd also like to find out what is that MHDD certificate

It looks like, in this case, MHDD stands for My Hard Drive Died.
Doomer, I noticed some simplifications, but can you point out some of the mistakes?

In this case could be probably :
Master Hard Disk Destructor
Should Dmitry change the name of the utility ? LOL ...
(BTW it's my #600 post, I was waiting for a post worth it !)
Have a good day and don't forget ... have fun !

For example
That guy said (I don't remember it word by word but the point was) "If drive clicks it searches for System Area".
Which is incorrect and if he thinks so, that means he doesn't understand how drive works in general

I would say instead of criticising it would be better if its appreciated, those presentations are very informative at least for the BEGINNERS, who are DUMMIES any way, . There are not many FREE info availabe online for learners, if dummies watch those clips at least they get some ideas. Well I think there are many reasons why you would hear a clicking noise, one of them is that the HEAD couldn't read SA, isn't it
If you are a learner please watch those clips, if you are an expert then please provide better presentations and information, everyone will appreciate.

Starling, I'm wondering which company do you work for?
I'm recalling you were in Toronto, right?
Or you moved to Ottawa?

I got my DeepSpar Disk Imager

It has few new connectors, including SD and Flash card adaptors. Check out the photo. I am happy.

Is that a ZIF adapter in your package? Deepspar tell me that they are shipping a new SATA adapter these days that they designed themselves, there were some issues with the Marvell-based predecessor which are now ironed out.
