WD5000D032-000 clicking and no longer recognixed by XP

October 6th, 2008, 13:28

My 500gb WD external drive gave up and seems to be spinning up and turning on and off properly, but is not seen in XP and is clicking every few seconds. I will check BIOS next, but it seems to be a common problem from what I have seen here. Don't want to spend $1500 to retrieve baby videos and old documents....

Are the "baby" pictures like your avatar??

You could have either a PCB problem or bad heads. None of which you can fix by yourself.

I see you're in need, so send it to me. I'll only charge $25, including free shipping. If that's not good enough, just let me know what your baby pictures are worth to you, and I'll lower my price accordingly. You better jump on this offer soon, as I'll soon be out of business doing nutty things like this.

While we're doing business, want to buy my car? It's a 2008 BMW 5 series. It's only got 5000 miles on it, and is perfect in every way. Since you're a nice guy, I'll deliver it to you free, and sell it for $75. If you don't have the cash, I'll take an IOU. All this, because you are so awesome, and I'm just a loser businessman. Thank you for allowing me to speak to you.

Hey Chadwick,

Do you know the difference between a porcupine and a B.M.W.?

(Hint: on a porcupine, the pricks are on the outside!)
