Hi All,
I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on the following drive that seems dead. I ran the Samsung diags and the output is below. If I could find a replacement PCB, is that likely to help me, does anyone have the PCB or know where I could obtain one ?
Samsung Diags

It's not the pcb, it's the firmware. Everything explained in the line about m.c. (the service area). You can't fix it by yourself, without proper gear. The drive in this state is either recoverable - hopefully - or fixable for re-use but loosing data. How much $ is data worth? Be honest.
P.s. Before you ask, no 'free software' or simple tool can fix it.

Thanks for replying. I'm actually helping out a friend, but the quote we had from Ontrack was for 400 UKP. But, with a 2-4 week tunraround (that's not so bad), the data is important but not time sensitive.

I meant how much can you afford... Ontrack quote is honest. Where are you located?

we can afford the quote. The other quotes were scary. I'm based in Southampton in the UK.

Sorry - silly question, what is PM ?

pm means "private message" pcimage sent you a private message about the recovery (i think)
