Amarbir, with all due respect why do you have to start every word with capital letter? Are you a novelist or oldiest who are still used to a mechanical type writer? :D {just kidding}, I find it rather annoying and when I read your sentences my eyelit goes up and down...

Have you looked into any of the free CRM solutions? Best part is, they don't cost anything to evaluate. :)

... the worst part is that India is the home of cheapest indeed good software houses : why don't you hire a programmer to build up your OWN solution with your OWN customization ? I'm sure at your labor cost, it will be not that much. And if it is still too much, there's always China near you. It's not a bad idea, trust me.

I have made my own web based solution for all purpose, and work fine, and smoothly.
This business is special, so i think the own costomization is the best way, to avoid problems... :-/

Personally, I'm not, and don't want to be, in the custom software business. It is a nice challenge, but it's not terribly profitable to spend time reinventing the wheel. Even though I can, I wouldn't consider modifying the software I use, as updates may break my modifications, I'll someday (At the worst possible moment, always) spend time seeing what's going on, creating a fix, etc... Before I know it, I'm a full time programmer, and drives pile up. When needed, I'll modify, or even create companion programs for a certain application, as long as it doesn't tightly integrate into my main application, which used to be vTiger. I've got so sick of the POS (No, that's not Point of Sale..), I'm looking for a better solution, and there are tons of open source replacements. Perhaps real men write their own apps, operating system, etc, and do it all in assembler (C++ is for wimps), but I'd rather focus on other pursuits. I get too distracted on my own anyway.

I like Sourceforge .net .org for instance, when needing a software. Or the many other open source sites, found using a web search engine.

We use Southware V14 with service management modules for our accounting side and have built Sharepoint libraries to manage physical and logical resources. Are you looking for the resource management or case management?

He is searching for FREE software. From Crm to logistic to everything. Am I right? Don't know if possible, but still don't get why not go to a local sw house in India and ask for a custom solution, with option for buying source code.

Personally, I don't trust computers.

This is why I have a manual, paper-based system!!! (Colour-coded, of course...)

How the hell do you recover data if you dont trust computers. Do you have some kind of wonderous paper-based system (colour coded) to recover the data. If so I would love to see such a device. Where did you get it from or are you some kind or origami master.

I bet if you joined forces with Andrex you could mass produce papier-machier models that all companies could buy. I think you could be on to a winner here.

Failing that your just a techno-phobic idiot. By the way what colours do you use in your colour coded system.

For managing stock/receipts/quotes, I use Mobile Invoice. Do a search for the title. Great stuff, customizable, cheap.
