Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I have used my hard drive for a while now as an external device and a few weeks ago it started making clicking noises over and over while i powered it on. I have changed the jumper settings and tried it in a different computer, but the computer still fails to recognize the disk drive.
Is there anyway i can get the comp to read it so i can copy some files off it, as the warranty has expired and there is nothing more that can be done with it.
Thanks

If now not knocks its possible but u need a hardware control and check ATA registers, if its knocking nothing u can do only send´s to a DR Company, knocks over WD could be a PCB problem, MHA or SA
