Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I wonder if anyone could offer some advice, I have a seagate barracuda 7200.9 300gb drive which has had the sata connection broken off. I was going to try and source a new PCB, but it seems to be near impossible to get an exact match, and from what I've read, only an exact match would do. Im guessing my only other option would be be to have another connection soldered on. Does anyone have any experience of this problem, or know if there would be somewhere mail order in the UK that could perform the fix ? Failing that does anyone know where you can source replacement connections so that maybe I could take one along to somewhere local and have them solder it on ? The fact is the drive may well be toast, but I need to give it a go because stupidly there's plenty on it thats not been backed up !
For info the no.s on the disk are:
s/n 5nf230ck
mdl st3300622as
p/n 9bd144 - 303
f/ware 3.aah
date 06437

Simple! Get ANY pcb and change the connector only. Then you can test your drive. Why change everything when you can change only what is really broken?

I'm looking for an ST3300622AS firmware 3.AAh Segate controller board for
a Segate Barracuda 7200.9 drive. The post about the broken connector is interesting to me as I can replace the connector with my connector from my blown controller board.
Contact me if you are interested.
PS. I need a good controller board to get some data off of my hard drive.

Printed Circuit Board - it is the electronics component on the disk drive
Post a picture of your broken SATA connection of your PCB!
Also, you may want to post additional info like the other poster made available, such as drive MDL and FW.
