Hi guys.
I've got a Maxtor Fireball 33 40GB. the hard stopped working while my pc was in idle mode, and when I restarted the system, bios didn't recognize it. after a few restarts, the hdd made a beep sound, and I saw the sh6770c chip fried. is there any chance that I can get my data back from the hdd since the mechanical part is alright?

Maybe. Find an exact replacement pcb, same firmware. If you are not familiar with terms and this kind of things ask a pro. P.s. If not recognised with new pcb i.e. AresC64k, a pro is absolutely needed. Or ask someone here. Where are you located?
