Hi there,
I have a compaq SCSI hdd which hangs. There 3 little song like "bip, bip, bip". The drive is in fact a Seagate drive.
Model BD03685A24
If think this is a firmware issue.
Does somebody have a solution for this ?

Is the device recognised at all? The PCB will usually report on model number in SCSI BIOS, if not PCB could be damaged. Does disk have a capacity of 0? Is there any internal damage that can be seen when top cover is removed?

Hi Gurus,
this thread is a bit old, but i have the same problem. I've also tried head swap, pcb swap....same result. The drive make a bip-like sound for three times when i power on, in "device manager" the system recognizes it but the drive remains bsy. I think it depends on a firmware issue too.
Have you solved this case? Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot
