Maxtor DiamondMax 22

November 7th, 2008, 20:25

Last night I plugged my laptop power supply into my external hard drive enclosure (moron!)... and smoked something on my Maxtor DiamonMax 22 hard drive. Mostly likely the PCB?

Anyway, I found another one on Ebay with these specs:
P/N: 9GT158-335
FIRMWARE:MX15
DATE CODE: 08404
SITE WUXISG

My hard drive has these specs:
P/N: 9GT158-335
FIRMWARE:MX15
DATE CODE: 08386
SITE KRATSG

The only things that are different are the date code and the site. Does that matter? Do you think the PCB on that other drive would work on mine?

Thank you in advance!

We can't tell, unless you try it on.
