Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3640323AS Head Change

November 17th, 2008, 12:38

Anyone had much experience with head change on these new slightly rubbish hard drives. Customer has seized motor. I have moved platters without any problem but I made bad mistake with the heads. (yes I am human) Do you think matching site code, model number and first 6 digits of part number will result in captable heads?

I'd like to know before I take apart another brand new 640 GB hard drive if it will work. Please PM and only if you have experience with this model. No guessing please. Thanks.

I think that should get you a good enough match! Im sure there are others in this forum who have put this to the test, just wait patiently for a response i guess....
